Full Reach, Compact Storage: The Reecoil Full-Reach Chainsaw Lanyard

Updated October 2026

A chainsaw lanyard needs to give you enough reach to handle your saw comfortably while keeping it close to your harness between cuts. The Reecoil Full-Reach Chainsaw Lanyard combines an extended working length with compact recoil, making it a practical addition to your climbing setup.

Designed by climbers for top-handle climbing chainsaws, it offers two attachment options and a higher hanging position to help keep your saw accessible.

Extended reach when you need it

The Full-Reach’s coil construction extends beyond 1.5 metres, giving you full arm reach when positioning and handling your chainsaw.

When stored, the lanyard retracts to approximately 55 centimetres. This compact length helps reduce excess lanyard hanging from your harness while your saw is parked.

For arborists moving between working positions, that combination of reach and compact storage makes the lanyard useful throughout the day.

Keep your chainsaw higher on your harness

Where your saw hangs can make a difference to how easily you access and store it.

The Reecoil Full-Reach can be attached to the rear D-ring of your chainsaw using a girth hitch. An extra sewn loop brings the hanging carabiner closer to the saw, helping it sit higher on the back of your harness.

This arrangement keeps your chainsaw close when stored and ready to access for the next cut.

Two attachment options for flexible handling

The built-in second loop provides an alternative attachment around the chainsaw’s top handle. This allows convenient one-handed hanging on a harness-mounted tool hook, such as the Petzl CARITOOL or Rock Exotica TransPorter.

The two attachment options give you flexibility in how you carry and hang your saw, allowing you to choose an arrangement suited to your equipment and working preferences.

Match the lanyard to your chainsaw

The Full-Reach is designed for compatible top-handle climbing chainsaws, including the Husqvarna T540 XP®.

It has a non-tearaway design, with a manufacturer-specified maximum tool weight of 5.33 kg at Fall Factor 1.5. Check your saw’s working weight and follow the manufacturer’s attachment and use instructions when setting up your equipment.
